Hi Folks, I'm trying to gather info on Gr/grandmother Mary Jane Paull (bc. 1852 Cornwall) 

She apparently married Phillip George Winzer (bc.1850 in Dorsetshire) in Dorsetshire in 1870, and emigrated to South Australia, year unknown

They had 9 or 10 children including my grandfather Archie Lester Winzer b 4-9-1890 in Broken Hill South Australia.

On Archie's birth certificate it mentions the other children 3 boys and 1 girl living and 3 boys and 2 girls deceased. How many of them were born in Aust. is unknown.

Hi Jacksin,

I fear you have some problems here.

Mary and Phillip did not wed in Dorset. They married in SA. Both families were in SA.

You mention Archie born in Broken Hill. - Broken Hill is over the border in NSW

You will find this thread of interest. I did quite a bit of work on the Dorset side and the immigration which was listed in the BISA as being on the OCTAVIA in 1855. (Entries for Phillips brothers)

This might be worth checking out...

There is a family tree on an*****y It has Mary Jane Paull emigrating to Port Adelaide on Burlington, with parents, in 1856, aged 3. Her parents are given as John Paull and Mary Ann. Other info there re sibling which is interesting and detailed including his funeral and inquest into his death

A possible marriage is given as 4Q 1852 Truro  5c 275 - Mary Ann Tippett BUT this would need to be verified

Possible birth

Census references also given for John Paull in 1841 and 1851

There are several births in SA to John PAULL and Mary ADAMS. One birth lists him as John Henry PAUL

I suspect this is John in the BISA

married Mary b 1832. Child Mary 1854

Now with John PAULL and Elizabeth, I am not seeing any certainty (none in Kenwyn) but there is an Eliza Whitford in the household in 1841 so I have to wonder about this one.
