Hi Toni,
I found a marriage by licence for one of my relatives in 1790s and got a copy of the licence from the record office in Exeter which has records from the archdeaconry of Cornwall. The licence itself wasn't hugely informative as it looks like a standard form, but her brother was a witness and it gave a parish for the groom. And it was cheap - less than £2.
Do you have a copy of the parish entry for the one in 1794? Names of witnesses might give a clue?

A visit to the record office seems to be called for.
Firstly to look at the parish registers for any further information which hasn't been transcribed. There may also be a banns register available and burial registers are much less likely to have been transcribed.
Secondly to look at the rest of the documents from the parish chest for any relevant information.
Both any surviving marriage licences and more importantly the supporting affidavits (bonds) may be available at the record office.

Most of the marriage licences from Cornwall aren't in the record office in Truro, but the one in Exeter as Cornwall was an archdeaconry at that time.
So that's 2 visits, Toni, or one extended trip.
