McHenry/McHendry, Ireland

My Great great, grandfather was married in Scotland in 1824 and on all the Scottish Censuses he showed he was born in Ireland.
I have never used Irish records and wonder where would be the best place to look for his birth.
Unfortunately he had a common name and presumably was born about 1790.

Welcome to rootschat Ian. I've had no success tracing my own Irish ancestors, so can't answer your question, but if you can find your gggrandfather's death in Scotland, you should at least get his parent's names.

Thanks for the welcome.
According to the death certificate his father was William McHenry or McHendry a ploughman.
So presumably he would have been born about 1760.
