Hi
Can anyone help me with this mystery that has puzzled me for such a long time now
My Davidson ancestors are on the 1851 census at Workington HO107; Piece: 2435; Folio: 104; Page: 26 Name Age John Davidson 24 James Davidson 29 Elizabeth Davidson 26 Ann Davidson 19 Jermiah Williamson 25 cousin
I am ok with the Davidson's, know who they are and where they were on each census However I have drawn a complete blank with Jermiah I can't find any trace of him on any other census, can't find a death after 1851, can't find a marriage
I was hoping to find out who he was and how he is cousin to the Davidson's but after years of looking, leaving alone, but always coming back I can get no further with him
I'll bet it's staring me in the face somewhere
Can anyone help
Thanks

Thanks Bob I saw the Dewsbury one too and have tried to follow him, but got nowhere I wonder if he is just a red herring. There are a couple of marriages in Dewsbury after 1851, one I have ruled out for 1855 because this Jeremiah is marrying 2nd wife Martha and he was born c 1789, a blanket maker...
the other to Ellen Shore in 1865, I haven't been able to track this couple on later census yet
The Davidson's were baptised at St Michael, Workington, to James and Mary. However their first sone was baptised at Carlisle, and father James puts place of birth as Carlisle on census. I am pretty sure I have the right marriage of James Davidson to mary Nixon at Carlisle, but I was hoping that by tying up who Jermiah/Jeremiah was I could confirm this. I was thinking that he was maybe connected through mum Mary, e.g if a sister marrried a Williamson., but I seem to be go around in circles
The only other maybe I have for Jermiah is a Jermiah Wilkinson on the 1841 census... maybe his name is written wrong on the 1851 HO107; Piece 157; Book: 9; Civil Parish: Moresby; County: Cumberland; Enumeration District: 14A; Folio: 14; Page: 22; Name Age Thomas Wilkinson 45 Jane Wilkinson 40 Thomas Wilkinson 15 Jeremiah Wilkinson 14 Hannah Wilkinson 12 Ada Wilkinson 10 Ann Wilkinson 8 Jane Wilkinson 6 John Wilkinson 4
straws, clutching
just wish I could find him for definite in 1841
Thanks for trying to help though

Thanks Trish, one to bear in mind I think
I've found a Joseph Williamson in the 1881 and 1891 for Northumberland who states he was borm Workington, 1824- He also has the occupation Blacksmith, that Jermiah had in 1851 so I wonder if this could be him
1881 - RG11; Piece: 5077; Folio: 41; Page: 9 1891 - RG12; Piece: 4225; Folio 89; Page 47
gets worse doesn't it

Hi Bob
Think I have found Jeremiah Wilkinson in 1851 living in Manchester
HO107; Piece: 2229; Folio: 28; Page: 48, married to Elizabeth says he was born Parton Cumberland, which is where he was living in 1841 with parents..also he is not with parents Thomas and Jane in 1851..
so that prob rules him out then
don't know any more about Mary, just have the marriage for 1811 at St Mary's Carlisle..
