What happened to them - where did they go?
1861 census shows William Godson (master printer b.1832) at Islington with his wife Susannah & 2 young daughters (Susannah & Emily).
1871 census shows William Godson (master butcher?? b. 1830) at St Giles, Camberwell, with his wife Susannah and now 5 daughters (Susannah, Emily, Alice, Louisa & Lydia) as well as brother Charles Godson (b. 1831).
but then they vaporised - I can't find any of the family in subsequent census. What could have happened?
PS another record shows William's father as George Thomas GODSON

Tati, you are fantastic!!!! So much, in such a short time Thank you, so very much. I hadn't thought about the possibility of the 'girls' remaining single; I'd stupidly thought they would have married!!
Thank you also Trish. cheers. Shirl
