Lookup 1891, 1901 - BIRD
« on: Sunday 26 April 09 23:44 UTC (UK) »

Could I please have a lookup in the 1891 & 1901 census for the following family:

Henry Ross BIRD b 1854 Chessington, Surrey and his wife:
Louisa Maria Pim (nee WAREHAM) b 1858 Middlesex
Leslie BIRD b 1895 Bristol
There may be other children.

They were living at Croydon, SRY, at the time of the 1891 census & possibly Gloucestershire, Bristol in the 1901 census.

Thank you, Gazania

Hi Karenlee,

Thank you for the lookup.  Looks like they moved around a lot.  Bye, Gazania

Hi Gazania,

Henry Ross Bird had another son, Percy Hyde Bird born 6th May 1883 at Caddington Road, Surbiton, and I am his grandson.  Henry Ross Bird was my great grandfather.

Leslie Bird was actually born on 13th September 1894 at Westbury on Severn, Gloucestershire.

Can I ask the reason for your interest ?

Hi Simon,

I am very pleased to hear from you.   I am trying to fill in the gaps in my Wareham family.  My grandfather and your  great grandmother, Louisa Maria Pim (nee Wareham) Bird were first cousins.  I am aware of your grandfather, Percy Hyde Bird.  The Warehams are a huge family, and most of the branches migrated to OZ and NZ in the 1800s, including Louisa's brothers.  Louisa's father, who I call, William the Art Dealer, stayed behind in the UK and also had a large family.

I am very happy to share my Wareham information.  Regards, Gazania

I would be happy to share information.  William "the art dealer" is a favorite of mine especially as far as his death is concerned.  I have been putting together all the information I can find on the yachting disaster off Ilfracombe which you presumably know about.  I am actually in touch with a relation of Charles Buckingham, one of the two in charge on the fatal day and am trying to find out more about all those who died and those who survived.

I will send you my email address as a personal message.
