Hi,
I have just searched the 1911 census, and believe that I may have found my 2nd great Aunt, Rhoda Annie Tippin, who married a Harry Wort. The problem is, I can not find a marriage for the two on the GRO, and so can not confirm that the couple on the 11 census are related.
The family are living in Croydon, and say they have been married for 8 years. I have searched for Henry/Harry Wort between Dec 1902 - Jun 1904, but have had no look finding the marriage.
Can anyone offer any sugestions as to what the next best thing would be to try?

Yes that is her. All of her sisters seem to be Housekeepers/Servants before they married.
I thought that she may have married later in life because she was a Housekeeper, but I can not find her down as Tippin on the 1911 census. I have only found the record with Henry Wort. I need the marriage reference to be sure it is her. I know that she married a Harry Wort (thanks to her aunt's will, dated 1934), but I know nothing about him.

I think this family might also be found as "Van Wart" and similar. Still cannot seem to find a marriage.
Where was Harry/Henry born?

The 1911 census says that Harry was from Hampshire, with Southampton wrote next to it in a different hand.
Rhoda was from Birmingham.

I had a quick look yesterday, and saw probable Birth Index entries for them (Brum and Hants), but no marriage obvious, despite inventive searching ....
I wondered if she was previously married, so a marriage to Mr W wouldnt be in the name Tippin(s) ?
But again, using her forenames, no luck ....

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - I have been away for a bit.
It does seem that they never married - so I can not prove the link. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
