Stanley Richardson & Beatrice Hudson marriage

Hi

My apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place - this is all a bit new to me!

I am looking for the marriage between Stanley Cecil Victor Richardson (b. 1887 Hornsey, Edmonton) and Beatrice Jowett Hudson (b.1904 Southwark, London) (my grandparents).

Having searched some of the marriage indexes between 1919 to 1928 inclusive, I have drawn a blank. Their first child, Jean, was born Dec 1928, so I assume they were married before or during 1928. (I know that Stanley Richardson was previously married to Lilian Evangeline Hope Turner in 1909, having one son that I am sure of from 1911 census, namely Walter b.1910 Edmonton. I am interested to know if they had any more children? Lilian I believe died in 1918.)

Can anyone help with any info. please? Many thanks.

if you go to http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ and do a birth search with Richardson in the surname box and Turner in the Mother surname box you will find a few. There are a number born Edmonton, which might fit, and nothing after 1917 which would fit with Lilian's death in 1918. There is a death registered for a Lilian RICHARDSON, Dec qtr 1918, Edmonton, 3a 1285, aged 31 which could be her.

Doing the same thing with Richardson/Hudson shows Jean's birth at Alcester, plus a few others. No sign of the marriage though. Probably still being transcribed.

I cannot see the marriage that you are seeking but ....

There is a death registration for a Stanley Cecil V Richardson in the last quarter of 1974 at Southend. The GRO reference is 9 2707. His date of birth is given as 25 October 1888. This seems to be one year adrift from his birth registration in the last quarter of 1887.

In the last quarter of 1942, there is a marriage registration in Edmonton for a Stanley C V Richardson and a Carmel Ring. The GRO reference is 3a 2299.

The death of a Carmel Gabriel Richardson is registered in May 1989 at Southend. She was born on 8th June 1917.

Do you know if these entries relate to your grandfather and possibly a later wife ?

When did your grandmother, Beatrice Jowett Hudson, die ?

Thanks for your help. I have done as you suggest, and have found the possible children of Stanley Richardson & Lilian Turner. I have also now ordered a copy of Jean Richardson's birth certificate - she is my mother's older sister.

I am pretty sure the information you have found for Stanley Cecil V. Richardson is my grandfather, and have ordered the marriage and death certs. I have been unsure of the whereabouts of my grandfather after 1939, so this would probably explain things. It has opened a can of worms so to speak, as my family did not know that he had married again. We wonder if he had divorced my grandmother as she did not pass away until 1986 - she had always been rather secretive of such matters.
