Strange thing is I can't see an Admiralty Doc for John R Hall on National Archives .
You would have thought that with John having Renfree/Remphry as a middle name, he would have used it more often!!!!!

same quarter as John Remphry Hall, the first, was born.

In the 1891 John Hall is a Sergeant with family in Dover, Hougham, Kent..... There is a John Hall in 1871 who is a soldier/private 29, b Cornwall in Cheriton, Kent .... I wonder if this is the same guy?
So we have a john Hall, Soldier in Kent and a John Hall in the Workhouse in Falmouth (along with a Rosina Hall) in 1871.
am I making sense?
