Hi Gerry, Have you looked to see what HISKEY marriages there are on freebmd for say 1903 or 1904? That might give you a lead...
An alternative is to buy birth certs which will give you the parents' names.
Another thought... if you check 1911 census you may be able to juggle the lookups to establish who was in the house together.

Hi Gerry
Do you know which parishes within the Registration districts that you quote these folk were born in please? Each Registration District contains dozens of parishes and it wouldn't really be feasible to check each one for a baptism. Also, the Suffolk Record Office only sells its parish record holdings up until 1901, so I doubt that anyone would be able to help unless they were actually visiting the SRO and only then if they knew the exact parish.
I'm afraid that I am have to agree with Charlotte. You will probably need to buy the certificates or check the 1911 for clues.
Rick

Thanks for your answers
I am already going to the Ipswich SRO this Saturday & finding out about these three is one of my tasks
Unfortunately I live in Surrey so cannot make regular visits
I was hoping someone might know who they are as I am painfully aware of how many parishes are involved & they may not even have been baptised
Rick - Please be aware that I should be able to help with most Hiskey queries between 1780 & 1935 & later in quite a few cases
Thanks
Gerry

Catherine Sandys, I WILL find out where you went.
|
Possible parents of Elsie are a Patrick and Esther who are aged 46yr and 35yrs on the 1911 census. Possible sibs for Elsie = Dorothy 13yrs, Ernest 15yrs, Florence 2yrs, Frank 10yrs.
For Victor looks like Philip and Mary Ann, aged 34yrs and 31yrs. Other possible siblings for Victor = Ada 6yrs, Ernest, 7yrs, Mildred 9yrs, Philip 10yrs.
Difficult to hazard a guess at Thomas.

Hi Gerry,
You might have these marriage dates - Patrick Hiskey & Esther Emmerson married 18 July 1896 at Elmsett Philip Arthur Hiskey & Mary Ann Frost married 14 April 1900 at Whatfield.
I notice we share an interest in LEEKS from Elmsett. My gg grandmother was Rebecca Anna Leeks born 10 October 1847 in Elmsett. She was the daughter of George Leeks & Susannah Daniels. George Leeks was the son of George Leeks & Ann Meadows.
I have quite a large file on Elmsett families in the 19th century. Perhaps we have other links from that parish?

Hi Kevin
I've got those dates thanks
I have carried out an in depth study of the Hiskeys & my query related to three who I just did not know who the children belonged to - I am now down to just one!
I seem to be related to half of Elmsett for the whole of the 19th century due to the constant inter marriages between the families
I was at the Ipswich SRO on Saturday trying to unravel my early Pearl ancestors
I have three direct Leeks ancestors the "latest" being Sarah b1794 in Kersey d1840 Monks Eleigh
I will PM you with my email address
Thanks
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
I know what you mean about being related to half of Elmsett! This is what started me reasearching many families and trying to piece them all together.
My main Elmsett interests are Gant, Leeks, Meadows, Holder, Daniels, but I have information on many more families. I will send an email with information that I have on the Hiskey & Pearl families.
I regret that I do not recognise your Sarah Leeks and would be interested to learn more. My ancestor George Leeks moved to Elmsett from Brent Eleigh sometime before his marriage to Ann Meadows in 1811.
