My Grandads brother William C  Macdonald went to America in 1927.
My grandad is "said" never to have heard from him again.

Do you have any other information about William?  Date/place of birth, occupation, marital status, parents' names, other relatives in the US, etc.

hi since I posted this I've found that William died in 1968 in Delaware county (a photo of his grave is on the Findagrave site)and I found his obituary in the brilliant Delaware Libraries online archive of old "Delware County Times". A member of ancestrys message board very kindly phoned the funeral Home for me and I managed to track down the family of the lady who organised the funeral. A couple of days ago I got an email in reply to a letter I'd written to the ladies daughter and she is going to tell me what she remembers of my Great Uncle.
