1861 vs 1871 census question

Hello,

Now that these censuses are available on Anc*, I had a chance to do some searching at the library the other day.

I had some success with 1871, but less with 1861.  I was searching Nova Scotia and the 1861 seems to have only heads of household.  Is this correct?

The reason I ask is that I recently saw an 1861 New Brunswick question answered with full family details.  Did the provinces actually have different details on the 1861 census?

According to the Library and Archives Canada website, the 1861 census for Nova Scotia was head of household only. Here's a link to a page at their website that indicates, by province, which census were head of household only and which listed the entire household:
