James keay & christine mcdonald of perthshire circa 1810-1820
« on: Tuesday 03 November 09 09:50 UTC (UK) »

I have a Margaret Keay 1845?-1915 (Died in balnald, moulin) married to James Mclauchlan (joiner) 1836-1903 (moulin).
I am trying to identify Margarets parents, which according to Margaret's wed cert they were not married, but according to Margarets death cert they were. I have found a few James Keays in perthshire all married to others.
One James Keay born in 1808 to Alex but am unable to tie him to my James.
One Christine Mcdonald 1828-1901 but not confident that she is the right one.

Thank you
Dan

Hi Dan

I think that this is Margaret with her mother in 1851

Wester Ballinluig 376 ED 1 page 6

Christian McDonald, unmarried, 35, stocking knitter, b. Logierait
Margaret Kaye, dau, 11, scholar, b. Logierait
Jannet Kaye, dau,  7, pauper scholar, b. ? (probably Logierait but not entered in column)
Donald McIntosh, son, 1, stocking knitter's son, b. Logierait

Christian/Christina is clearly shown as  unmarried on this census.  Born circa 1816.

Not far from Moulin.
