Albert was born in Taunton, Somerset but on the 1861 he and his siblings John (11), Emma ( and Alice (6) are all in the Weymouth Workhouse. Any information as to how they came to be in Weymouth would be helpful. The three names siblings were all born Melcombe Regis which is a part of Weymouth, Dorset.
No parents are mentioned and I would like to find out who they were and if they originated from Somerset.
Many thanks as someone always comes up with some lead or other.

Thanks Tati,
I see there is no mother mentioned but a daughter aged 23, do you think is a mistake - another mystery. Now I need to get on the Dorset page and see what else comes up. Really need the death of Mum and Dad to see why they were placed in the workhouse.
What is a Lastmaker? anyone any idea.

Hi all,
I think a Lastmaker is someone who makes the foot-shaped forms that are used for shoe making.
