O.K.  in Emerald Ancestors, type in Nicholson - no christian name, and Co. Down.  This will give you a list of births with that surname and then if you click on view you should see the parents names.  You can also do a search in 'births, putting in the father's name and the mother's name, and the County.

Let us know how you do.

Hi RJ
Ok pulling all the searches out and printing them off
also, is this of any value...being as we are hard pressed for church marriages or baptisms,
this is the second marriage of William Henry to my Great Grandmother Issabella Margaret GLENNIE in 1902
Civil Marriage
Date of Marriage 24 Dec 1902
Groom Name william henry NICHOLSON
Bride Name Bella GLENNY (GLENNIE)
Church Saint Patricks Ballymacarrett Church of Ireland
Parish Knockbreda
Civil District Belfast
County Down
I am not sure what the record might tell me, or if i am barking up the wrong tree Huh
Thanks for all the help you are giving me,
Noreen

Two things, sorry three!!

1. This thread is becoming very popular Smiley Good good.

2. I'm in NI so I can nip over to PRONI re the 1901 census stuff, which (may) help. Let me know.

3. Finally, what about Lewis's signature in the Covenant (Raby St) (Brother? - born in Wales ?).

Hoping it'll help?

David

As soon as we figure out the "who & what" i would very much like to take you up on that offer, but only
if I can pay your expenses or buy you lunch for doing this for me.
Will let you know,

Hi Everyone
I am still bamboozled and stuck on Henry NICHOLSON
I wish there was a way to see parish records for St Patrick's Church in B'maccarrett
Anyone have any ideas?

St Patrick's Ballymacarrett records from 1827 on microfilm at PRONI (Church was known as Christchurch in earliest years).  Maybe LJReb123's offer of lookups at PRONI would help .... if still available Smiley
