Hello ,
Does anyone know if its possible to look at their ancestors criminal records in Portsmouth ? I think there may have been an offence in Nov 1915. I would ideally like to know how to access these files , if possible , thanks .

Have you looked to see if there is any report in the local newspapers, or even national ones?

Check out the holdings of both Hampshire Record Office (online catalogue search available via this link: http://calm.hants.gov.uk/DServe/

and for Portsmouth Record Office.  No online search but a list of their holdings is posted.  http://www.portsmouthrecordsoffice.co.uk/

Hello Nell ,
Thank you , I have indeed been in touch and they looked at one set of newspapers to no avail but there is another one they can look at for a cost of £12. I also contacted the Hampshire Constabulry and they replied saying their records do not go back to 1915 except for serious crimes .
