Can anybody out there help?
I'm looking for the death/burial records of Ebenezer Hawthorn(e) born Burslem Staffs 1828.
He was last recorded in Ferry Fryston working in the potteries in 1881 with his wife Sarah. She died in the September Quarter of 1885.
We've tried all variants on the 1891 and 1901 census's plus "FreeReg" and the "IGI" together with the "Wakefield Burials Register" but to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
David

Hi I have checked the free bmd death index on ancestry in case an error was made in the spelling for the years 1881-1901 and did not find an Ebenezer Hawthorn(e). Sorry.

I know we've tried everything, I've even spent a day in the records office in Wakefield looking through every church register in the area.
I've even put a post on the Staffordshire board just in case they went back down to Burslem after the first one passed away, but nothing yet.
It's as though he's just dissappeared off the face of the earth!
Maybe there is something in alien abduction after all!!!!!!

Did you order his wife's death certificate to see if he was still alive then? He had children, any clues there? I know how frustrating this can be, I can't find my ggrandfather's birth info, even though my nan had said when it was!!
I hope you get lucky soon Sam :-)

A quick update, I now have his wifes death certificate, she died 8th July 1885, under occupation it says "Widow of Ebenezer Hawthorn Potter".
This has narrowed it down to a 5 year period as he was alive on the 1881 census.
