If anyone can help me with a few loose ends in this area, it would be appreciated.
1. Baptism of a William COTTRELL/COTTERELL (or similar) in the period 1775-80 (he married Ann JANES in 1801 Ashbrittle). The LDS entry for Samp. Arundel seems to have a different forward history, based on LDS;
2. The marriage of the son of the above, William COTTRELL (c1802) in the period 1820-24 - spouse unknown, but may be revealed by 3., below;
3. Baptisms of children of William (c1802) & unknown spouse, above - George (c1824, Stawley) & James (c1830 Stawley). May be others;
4. The baptism of George William Warren COTTRELL, s/o George (c1824) & Elizabeth WARREN post 1851. Note: BMD does not have all the names, so trying to identify which one he may be. The monument at Stawley church is badly worn and dates are illegible, where the son is interred with his parents;
5. The marriage of Richard COTTRELL (c1804 Stawley) to an unknown Edith, which must have occurred in the period 1821-32 in the Devon/Somerset borders region;
6. Baptisms of the following apparent family members in the same churchyard who I can't quite tie-in due to illegible/worn monuments: a. William (c1802), who married a Mary (unknown surname and date), with George (son interred with them). b. Henry (c1845); c. Fanny (c1866), died 1868 and her brother "Fred" on same tombstone; d. James (c1843-1887) and his marriage to an Anne (1843-63) abt 1863 on same tombstone.
Many thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,
William was listed as a sojourner at the time of his marriage to Ann Janes.
William COTTERELL = Mary PERRY 28 June 1823 Stawley
Looks like she was buried 24 Jun 1838 Stawley aged 36 William COTTRELL 7 Nov 1847 aged 45 George 3 Apr 1880 aged 56 William 19 Mar 1842 aged 72 Ann 24 Mar 1844 aged 64 Richard 28 Jun 1857 aged 54
don't know if these are of interest but will include them Thomas 23 Sep 1838 aged 31 Robert 4 Jan 1880 aged 87 Elizabeth 3 July 1878 aged 78
Rich COTTERELL of Stawley = Edith HODDER 27 Apr 1831 Street
Cheers Kris

Hi Mark,
A sojourner is a short term resident who has been in the village for a very short time possibly less than three weeks. - He had probably just moved to the parish to wed. Unfortunately no clue as to where he was from..........Kris

This may help you I found a James COTTERALE Baptized 20 Mar 1814 (Close Variant) son of (and Anne daugther of) Baptized 20 Mar 1814 William and Ann COTTERALE, This 2 maybe twins.
I'm in the process of transcribing Bishop's transcripts for Stawley, 1598-1836
