Hi,
Just wondering if someone could do a look up of all the William Elliotts who married Florences from 1883-1885 in Nottingham please? I have been told there is a William Rockley Elliot in 1884, but want to find out if there are any more in this time frame, as the 1911 census said he was married 1884.

A FreeBMD search for a marriage William Elliott, wife Florence, between 1881 and 1886 only shows the marriage you have quoted.

Both Nottingham, right?

Sounds pretty good to me because the 1884 marriage is to Florence Lane, and there is a Florence Lane (daughter of George and Dinah) born ca. 1866 Nottingham on previous censuses.

Hi Tati, they were both born in Nottingham. 2 other possible William's I have found are William E born 1862 to William B and Emma and William born 1863 to Thomas and Harriet, but I can't find who they married and I know William and Florence were common names duing that period, so I'm struggling to make sure the Rockley Elliott one is actually mine.

As said above, it seems the only William Elliott / Florence marriage. A birth cert for one of the children will confirm.

How old is William in 1911? I see he's 35 in 1901, which would tie in nicely with this boy in 1881:
