Hello Lee,
If you don't have access to the Sussex Marriage Index, I can help you with lookups if you need them. If any drifted over to East Grinstead I may also have info from about 1815 on.

Lee,
I can't find anything on Henry and Ann, but keep this one in mind if you think Henry's father was called John.
From the Sussex Marriage Index: Worth, 29 Sept 1794 John Humphrey (bach) and Elizabeth Webber (sp) botp Witnesses: Thos Brooker and Thos Humphrey

Hello Lee,
I've got the 1841 census for Worth, but the only Humphrey households which are about the right age are:
James (40), Ag Lab and Sarah (45), plus children. Mary (55), Shopkeeper, plus children.
The parish registers are at the West Sussex Record Office according to their website. They are also available for purchase on fiche, but from experience they cost, at £2 each and take several weeks to get.
For Horne, check out the East Surrey FHS, they have a study centre at Lingfield, which I believe can be used by anyone for a nominal fee.

hi there thank you for that, that narrows it down a bit as i know they moved to Horne at some point, so it seems it was before 1841, need the 1841 for Horne, surrey that should show some of the answers,i am not sure about fiches, do you need a reader for them. thanks again lee

Lee,
Yes, you do need a reader to view them, more expense. I eventually got one from ebay for £100 plus. Not knowing anything about them, my first one was totally unsuitable.
If you are just interested in your own family history I don't think it is worth it. Time permitting, I do transcripts and belong to Sussex OPC, so I can justify the expense to myself, if not to the wife.
