Coming to Bray to search for a grave
« on: Monday 30 November 09 05:47 UTC (UK) »

Morning
I've finally tracked down my great grandfather's death certificate so want to try and find his grave when I come over in March. But I've only ever been to Bray once and the internet hasn't helped so I need a bit of a pointer on which cemetery I should aim for.
Francis Quinn died in 1950 at the age of 66 at 12 Galtrim Park, Bray. He was Catholic.
So any locals out there with an idea of what the closest Catholic graveyards are?
Thanks

as far as I know the main cemetery used in the Bray town area in recent years is Springfield Cemetery, Killarney Road, Ballywaltrim.  Killarney Rd leads from the town hall in the centre of the town south west towards Kilmacanogue.

It might be worth looking at the Bray Council website at http://braytowncouncil.ie/ - they have a tourist brochure which includes a map and various places of interest : Bray Brochure   (pdf file)

the main RC churches are Holy Redeemer, Main street and Queen of peace, Putland Road.
