RG12 103 is in Marylebone not Paddington. There are 8,099 names on this one piece. I checked a street index for the London 1891 census. There was no New Street in Paddington. For Marylebone the New Street references were New Street Charles Street St. Johns Wood Dorset Square RG12 103 folio 104-112 and RG12 100 folio 54-59 New Street Mews Upper Park Place RG12 100 folio 50-54. I checked 11 New Street on RG12 103. It is folio 106 There were three households Samuel Barber 42 born Marylebone with his wife and two lodgers Alfred Campion 36 born Marylebone with his wife and two children Alfred Hammond 46 born Paddington with his wife.

He's one of the two lodgers, but indexed as Turtchen born Marylebone. There is a definite i in the surname. A Thomas William Twitchen married in Marylebone in 1889

I have a James William Brown Twitchen, joiner, age 24, living with his wife Alice, 23, at 129 Carlisle Street, New Church Street (or possibly Newchurch Street), St Marylebone in the 1881 Census.
Any help?
Molly

Thank you. Yes, I have traced the family back to John Twitchen, born Tiverton 1796 and his wife Ann Brown, born Topsham 1796. My cousin's wife Ann (their great, great, great grand-daughter) has the Family Bible, but sadly only some information is written in there, while other details are missing.
For example, do you know who married Alfred Edwin Twitchen born St Marylebone 1892, whose son, also Alfred Edwin Twitchen was born in 1918?
I'm in London, so I have access to Parish Records at the LDS Centre in Kensington, but I haven't been researching this family very long, so haven't been there yet.
Lovely to make contact, Molly

Thank you so much, that takes me back another generation in Devon.
If there is any research I can do for you in London, please let me know.

Thanks Dawn, I do know about those two, but they are only good for London parishes, for Devon it still has to be LDS or go to Devon in person! Thanks anyway. Molly
