Maidstone Registers - Ground/Gaskin
« on: Sunday 06 September 09 20:57 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to find Florence Mable Ground born about 1888, my maternal great grandmother.  The information I have so far:

1911 Census
9 James Street, Maidstone, Kent
William Henry Gaskin, Head, Married, M, 51, Delver in stone quarry, Maidstone
Rebecca Gaskin, Wife, Married 27 years, F, 52, Maidstone
William Gaskin, Son, Married, M, 22, General Labourer, Maidstone
Florence Mable Gaskin, Daughter in Law, Married, F, 23, Maidstone
William Gaskin, Grandson, M, 6 months, Maidstone

In 1913 William and Florence had another son, Albert.  Mother's maiden name on birth records is Ground.

I have been searching for more information on Florence for approximately 9 months now, and keep coming up with nothing.  I am looking for birth details, marriage and death!  So far have not been able to find any of those.

Is there anyone out there that could possibly shed some light?

Can you find a marriage in this surname?

I had to double check it, but I was sure I had already discounted that one some time ago.

Thanks anyway  Smiley

As far as I am aware, there were only the two brothers, William and Bert.  I will check this out thoroughly though.

William Gaskin, born Sep Qtr 1888
Son of William Henry Gaskin and Rebecca Simmonds

Unfortunately, due to finances, I do not yet have his birth certificate.

I meant the birth certificate of your grandfather (is it Bert 1913?) to see what it says there to be certain that you are on the right track ............

I dont have his Birth Certificate either.  My mum had all that sort of stuff hidden away somewhere in a box, and it appears to have gone walkabouts!  I will have a word with her and ask her to look again. And yes, Bert it is  Smiley
