From the baptism register St Mary, Lambeth

1820, July 15

Benjamin Thomas (parents) Thomas & Elizabeth Poole (abode) can't read street, Lambeth (Quality, Trade or Profession) Gardener

Can't find obvious marriages for the others.

Is there a possibilty that Thomas & Elizabeth could have moved to Lambeth from somewhere else in rural Surrey? Same thing for James & Martha.

Hi Dawn thank you for info, I don't know any more as far as I know they came from the c
amberwell area but I suppose they could have moved there from somewhere else can-not find thomas and elizabeth on the censuses but have james and martha.
Ben and Caroline died in 1860 annd 1861 and Martha was the informant so she was still alive but looks as if James had died.
It doesn't give Elizabeths maiden name on baptisum does it?
                                                           thanks again

Hi Jac

No the register doesn't, it would only have her maiden name if they weren't married ie the child was illegitimate.

You could try asking on the Surrey board for a marriage look-up as Lambeth was historically in Surrey.

Don't forget to copy and paste in a link to this topic so that others can see what research has already been done to save them wasting time.
