There aren't many Barbara. I can count the requests that I remember on one hand.
I think many references to Oswestry come from it once being the registration district name for parts of Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire, as in this case.

Did he marry an Ann and was he in Bedlington, Northumberland in 1901:
Boat House, Cambois, Bedlington RG13/4834 F 62 P 16
Meredith Geroge, 51, Miner and C hewer, b. St Martins, Wales (Salop written in in right column) (a common mistake especially if it was Gledrid which is about 1/2 mile from the border) Ann, 50, domestic, b. Ruabon, Denbighshire (which is 6 miles from Gledrid/St Martins) John,27, miner c hewer George, 21, miner coal Edith, 19 Evan, 16, miner coal Warick, 14, miner Frank, 12, scholar Florence, 9, scholar (all children b. Ruabon, Denbighshire)
There is Nathan Barnes, married,23, coal miner, b. Neston, Cheshire listed as son in the same household and other Barnes family members all down as Visitors - one is a Polly Barnes, married, aged 24 and b. Ruabon. Also 2 children - Norman and Edith. It could be that she is George and Ann's daughter and she married Nathan and the two children are George's grandchildren.
The entry is a bit of a mixture. I'll post the Barnes family if you think it is the correct family.

Hi Gadget
Yes these are the ones. It looks like they were having a get together! I am directly descended from George, whose son, Edward, moved to Lancashire when the railway opened a line through here in 1864 and of course the extension of the deep mining in this area. It became known as Little Wales around here. They brought religion, language and their own culture and even had their own Eisteddfod.

So George moved to Ruabon and then to Northumberland, where he died, but his son George moved to Lancashire, is that right?
When you have finished with George's line, let me know as I have a fair number of Ruabon records and could (hopefully) trace Ann's ancestors

You are very kind Gadget, as I find everyone is on this site and extremely knowledgeable.
Sorry I have confused you. George's son Edward moved to Lancs in 1890's, and married my GGrandmother who was from this area.
They do seem to have moved about a bit, maybe following the work. My families did seem to move about, again following the work. I think the area must have had a large welsh community as lots of areas did.
