Mobile Phone Files 3GP

Hi, the videos i record on my mobile phone ( mostly churches , gravestones and other family reseach stuff) wont play on my Windows Media Player its say it don't recognize the file any help appreciated, but not to technical.

Hello Mrs Griff

You could try downloading the VLC media player for Windows which plays a lot more file formats than Windows Media Player. It should play 3gp files without a problem.

3GP files are viewable on a PC using programs like QuickTime or RealPlayer.


You can get Quicktime free from here:
