Joseph STOCKLEY
« on: Sunday 09 August 09 14:13 UTC (UK) »

Joseph Stockley was my grandmothers youngest brother - he was born in 1904 at Wareham, Dorset, practised as a physiotherapist in Warrington, Lancashire and finally retired to 26 St Peters Road, Stowmarket - he died in Ipswich hospital on 1st January 1988. He was the last of the family to die and was never married. What I am trying to find is what might have happened to any photo's, letters etc he may have had concerning the rest of the family. The only name I have is from the death certificate which is Roger Norman Price - "qualification" causing the body to be cremated - with an address of 5 Carol Avenue, Martlesham, Woodbridge.
I have no idea of where to go or who to contact - can anyone help
Thanks
Ray Harris

Hello Ray,

I've found tracing other family members and their descendants can be useful. Can you list the rest of Joseph's siblings and his parents?

Have you checked his death certificate? Who was the informant?

I have a particular interest in Dorset Stockleys. Smiley

The local daily newspaper for suffolk is the East Anglian Daily Times and they are always publishing family history appeals.

Worth trying as they love it when it comes together and they can write a follow up story.

www.eadt.co.uk

or the sister-newspaper, The Evening Star links on the web site above.

You may find someone who knew him who may be able to help further.
