Hi

I am trying to trace which cemetery in Northampton my grandmother Mabel Harriet Emma James 1892-1926, was buried in.

I can confirm that the death was record in the 1926 Death Index for Apr-May-Jun and she did live in Northampton at the time.

It could depend on the area of town which she lived in.

The original cemetary was Billing Rd.
Dallington cemetary was on the western outskirts, Towcester Rd cemetary on the southern outskirts and Kingsthorpe cemetary in the northern part of town.

And of course she may have been cremated, this would be at the Three Counties Crematoriam to the south of town.

If she lived in one of the villages in the Northampton registration district then she may have been buried in a village churchyard.

Once you have the death certificate and the date of death, you could look for the death announcement in the local newpaper. That is likely to have the funural arrengements included.

Thanks for that, in October 1925 she lived in Oliver Street, Northampton and that is where I think that she passed away. Would that have any relation to where she might buried.

Hi Ridgeback.

Mabel Harriet Emma James aged 33 years
Noted as living at 72 Oliver Street, Kingsley, Northampton.
Interned 21 April 1926 at Billing Road Cemetery.
Died April 18th and buried in grave 15562.
