i've had another look at the 1881 census and there are more houses in york street including no. 8

there's 2,4,6,8,10, & 12
and 3 & 5

GRO ref volume 232-1 enumdist 16 pages 15 and 16 for no's  8a,8b, & 8c

surnames at no. 8
a. law , nicolson
b. stephens , mcwilliams , scroggie , fyvie , falconer
c. brand , sellar
