By the time you found them last night, Heywood, I was about half asleep and getting more fuddled by the minute
But - yes - that is an excellent find Well done
The living next door syndrome As you say - often missed
And the marriage of Agnes' parents And father's occupation
Quite a haul - sorry I didn't appreciate it at the time

I have been looking for William
At the moment, I can't see him in 1861, but in 1871 there's a William age 16 born Northwich. lodging in Altrincham. He seems to be with two other William Taylors - one age 60 and one age 37, the younger a Hawker and "our" William is shown in the occupation column as "son of above"
Again - William's marriage certificate will confirm the name and occupation of his father

Are you saying that Caroline Agnes Ferguson and William Taylor lived next door to her parents Caroline an John Ferguson? Any idea of the mothers maiden name if will this hve to wait until I get the birth certificate?
David, (proper name) Have you read that long post I did in the early hours of the morning It details how I think Caroline and John Ferguson are the parents of Agnes (plus John and David Ferguson). 1) Caroline is next door to William and Caroline/Agnes 2) Traced her through her place of birth back through censuses. 3) 1851 confirms my theory that Army is involved. 4) Possible marriage in 1849. I must stress that all this is not confirmed in the sense of certification but is substantiated by census entries and now an Army reference. There is a possible Caroline Worthington in 1841 census by the way. I know we keep saying it but you really need certificates - the marriage cert of William Taylor and Agnes Ferguson would give their fathers' names. regards heywood

No, she is saying the widow Caroline is living next to William and Agnes Taylor in 1901.
As Kath said yesterday
David, (proper name) Have you read that long post I did in the early hours of the morning This is the post:

Added: Marriage 1863 Dewsbury possible spouses Caroline Ferguson and George Liley Can't see the Fergusons in 1861 1851 HO107; Piece: 2190; Folio: 626; Page: 21 in barracks Everton Caroline Fargason married 22 yrs wife of Private Ferguson b Portsmouth John Ferguson 1 yr son of Private Ferguson b Kent Marriage 1849 Portsea Possible spouses- John Ferguson and Caroline WorthingtonCan't see them in 1861- perhaps abroad in Ireland (David) and Corfu (Agnes) so.. in view of the above, I would say that Agnes/Caroline are probably the same person. 3) William Taylor B: about 1857, Northwich, Cheshire, England married to Caroline ? B: about 1858, Northwich, Cheshire, England.
I haven't found a marriage to Caroline, but I think he was married to Agnes in 1891.
1880 Agnes FERGUSON Manchester, Gorton, St. JamesClass: RG11; Piece: 3902; Folio: 72; Page: 22 Class: RG12; Piece: 3171; Folio 136; Page 18 Class: RG13; Piece: 3688; Folio: 66; Page: 26 Deryck Dave - Derek found this marriage yesterday
