Trouble posting a photograh - COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 17 June 09 23:34 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I have recently posted a WW1 photograph onthe Restoration Board to get some help with reading a photographers stamp.  I would also like to post it on the WW1 board for help with identification of the regiment, however every time I try to do this it says I need to change the file name.  I have saved it into a different directory and changed the name on it but it will still not post.  Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong.

Thank you

The system won't allow you to post a photo if there is already one anywhere on the site with the same name.  Try adding something random to the file name - if was myphoto.jpg the rename it to something like cmjp180606.jpg.  Alternatively, instead of posting the actual photo again, why not just put the link to the photo on the restoration board in your message on the WW1 board?

I usually prefix the name with the date, and that works for me, i.e. 090618file.jpg

Thank you Nick and Robert for your help.  I tried to alter the file name but it still would not work so in the end a connection link to the restoration board seemed to solve the problem.
