Hi Mark
Welcome to Rootschat!
Dotty looks as if she's gone offline, but as she has a year reference, maybe it'd from Lancashire BMD / Cheshire BMD sites.
From the reference you can get a marriage certificate which would give their fathers, residences, occupations and fathers occupations and witnesses. Also the exact date, church or record off and which denomination if it were a church.
Also, if you know the residence you can look in the BMD Indexes in a main library on fiche or online at various places - som free bmd, but a bit late. Also on paid sites.
The good bit about your date is that by this time the mother's maiden name is given in the index.
You can also look in trade directories if you know the town or the old telephone directories.
Another thought: My Mum worked at Pilkington Glass many m0oons ago for a very short time, and they had a magazine. I've just seen one old copy at a house, but if you have a date, the marriage may appear, or other information. Maybe they have an archive?
Hope it helps.
I'll have a look.

Wow, that was a quick reply. And I was just trying to think of the name! Now you tell me I don't think I ever knew!
If you're in St Helens, there may be more you can find without the expense of certificates.
I'll have a look.
Modified: Another though, now I know you're in St Helebns, have you thought about electoral registers. They're probably in that library. A few at least rough addresses would help though.
Best wishes

Hi Mark
I'm wondering if they moved away too.
Can't see the marriage but this may because it's not on the site yet, or it's a military marriage. Dotty will tell you where she got that from.
On free bmd but only child that fits is this one is in St Asaph! There may be others not on here as thios is quite late for free bmd.
You can buy a certificate from the Local record office or from GRO Southport. The GRO now have an online ordering service.
Mowe Norman W Evans St.Asaph 11b 551 for March 1922 (Jan to March quarter).
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
It costs about £9 now, but more without the code. If you think you're in with a chance it may be worth it!
Other sites are online Parish Clerk (OPC) and familysearch.org.
Best wishes
Emms
Sorry I've got to go out.
I'll look in later.
Good luck!
