Fanny STANCOMBE Lookup
« on: Thursday 18 June 09 15:52 UTC (UK) »

Hello

Could anyone going into the records office please look up any details there may be on the death of a Fanny Stancombe.  It is registered in Launceston district in Q3 1885 although I do not believe she is originally from that area. Sorry but that is all the info I have.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi,

I think you have to purchase the certificate to see the details.

If you know where she was buried then that parish register can be checked, but will usually only give basic details of her burial.

Copies of death certs are held at Registry Offices. It is not very easy to get to see these, in the way that you can see things at a record office. That is why you are advised to buy the certificate.

Burial registers are held at the record office or recent ones may even be at the church/crem.  They do not generally record such detailed info as a death cert. It depends on the incumbent at the time. Of course pre-civil registration they are the only record we have.
