Henry William Sallis marriage 1844

I'm looking for the maiden name of Henry William Sallis's wife Louisa. They were married in Sept Qtr 1844. Henry given on "free BMD" but not Louisa. Marriage said to be registered in Basford but there seems to be some uncertainity as the vol/page 15/363 isn't right for Basford. She was born in Annold according to the censuses.

I think it must be Louisa Shepherd, whose marriage reg is

Sep 1844 Basford 15 563

There are only 7 people transcribed on FreeBMD on that page, so the missing one may be your Henry with his page number wrongly transcribed.

Thanks for all the messages. They fill in a gap or two.

I have sent a correction, they had 363 instead of 563 for the page number but did acknowledge that the entry was probably wrong somewhere.

Next problem is that there appear to be 2 marriages of a Thomas Shepherd and Ann at about the same time in Papplewick & Nottingham. Thats for tomorrow!!!!!
