Hi
I am trying to find the birth and parents of William Clay, who married Ann Wildgust on 25 Dec 1867 in Nottingham (7b, Q4 423). I believe his parents to be William and Charlotte, possibly Charlotte Turtle, but can't be sure.
William was born in Bulwell about 1848.
on the 1851 census I found a family at Brick Row, Bulwell
William Clay age 33 Glove maker, born Mansfield
Charlotte clay 38 Glove stitcher, born Farnsfield
Charles 8
John 7
Eliza 4
William 2
George 5 months
in the 1861 census his father appears to be married to Hannah (nee Brocker or Bracken) from Bulwell , and living at New Row, bulwell. They have 2 more children, Alfred 3 and Ellen 6 months, plus two from Hannah's previous marriage.
I would be grateful for any info on this family please.

A copy of the 1867 marriage cert will show their respective fathers names
Alternatively - there is this possible birth registration on freebmd
Births June qtr 1848
William CLAY Basford 15 449
Basford was the registration district for Bulwell

Hi
As above you will need the Birth Cert to be sure. The Turtle marriage you mention is at Marnham in 1833,which seems unlikely. There is another on 20.6.1842 at Arnold, Charlotte Walker.
There is a burial at Bulwell 24.3.1859 Charlotte Clay 36 Yrs
There is also a marriage at Bulwell 5.9.1859 William Clay/Hannah Bricknock.
The only Christening I can find to William/Charlotte is Alfred 2.11.1857 Bulwell

Eliza Clay bapt 14/06/1848, Bulwell, St Mary's
William Clay bapt 18/06/1848, ditto.
George Clay bapt 08/12/1850, ditto.
Ellen Clay bapt 25/07/1852, ditto.
Ellen Clay bapt 17/06/1855, ditto.
Alfred Clay bapt 22/11/1857, ditto.
All children of William and Charlotte, fathers profession, FWK.
