Ramsbury Church Graveyard
« on: Friday 19 June 09 08:48 UTC (UK) »

I heard a family rumour that Ramsbury Parish Church had "recently" extended its graveyard.  ("Recently" could mean some time within the last 20 years, I think!)  Can any Rootschatter local to Ramsbury confirm or deny this for us?  I have looked about on the net but can't find any reference to such an extension.

We are interested as a family member was buried "over the wall" back in the 1920s.

Thanks.

Hi Rachel

I visited this Churchyard in early July but no obvious extension. Except for around the large church most is "overgrown" for the widlife and conservation

Maybe you are thinking about a cemetery at Ramsbury, if so it is not next door to the Church nor did I see any obvious road signs

I picked up a leaflet about the churchyard. It also gives a name and address to contact if a memorial list is required
I am happy to send a copy to you off list  Wink

You can find my e-mail address on my site www.pope-genealogy.me.uk, it also has a few Ramsbury MI's which I noted

Hi John:

Thanks very much for this.  I shall send you an e-mail off list.
