Hello again,

My friends name is ........., he was born in 1943 and has a brother named ..............born 1947. Their Mother's surname was .........

Did you ever trace a record for William Charles in the 1901 Census? I can only find the first wife living with one of her sons.

Presumably all the children after 1901 were from Rose and your Mother married Alfred Boxall? It is odd there are 2 Florence Webbons in the Brighton area who both married about the same time, any ideas?

Regards Simon

Hi simon, i think i can work out who your friend is, although I cannot be certain.
However you are on the wrong line with me!!
All of Rose Ella's children with the exception of florence cecilia, who died within a year of her birth, married, but florence may and alf boxall did not have children as far as i am aware, neither did douglas who married a lovely swiss lady.
william thomas edwin had 1 son, stanley had a daughter and son, and albert had a daughter and two sons. with the exception of wte's son who was born in the 1920s, all the other children, myself included were born in the 1940s
I have found no mention of my grandfather in the 1901 census.
