not the last purgarvie look-up

 Embarrassed i knew i'd regret saying that

trying to link james stewart purgavie to rest of the tree

james stewart purgarvie died 28/04/1942 king's own scottish borderers
father james duncan gilbert purgavie mother maude annie purgavie
husband of rhona purgavie of ashbourne derbyshire

now monica found a J G D PURGAVIE who served in ww1 with the KOSB
and i think it is fairly safe to assume that this was james stewart purgavie's
father

SP has a james g d purgavie born 1883 lundie angus
this doesn't match any of the james i have so far
can anyone have a look at 1891/1901 census to identify parents
unless one of the james i have already died i can't see who the parents were

Not seen on 1891 immeditely but there is a marriage  on SP of a James G  to an Annie Lamont in Dundee, St Mary in 1903. No Maud.

I think this is the split of the tree that we spotted on GR off to Derbyshire...part of the four pages of Purgavies on there!

Was going to add that one but RC ground to a halt  Roll Eyes

I've only found  one Purgavie in England on the 1901 - a Robert P in Bury  b. Dundee

Robert P looks to have gone on to marry there in 1906 (likely to have married the same Ann Gray who shows in the household), again another line shows in Bury after this date on GR.

robert peddie purgavie b. 1881 dundee parents james purgavie
and euphemia gray(monica found robert p to ann gray 1908 bury)
saw the children of a purgarvie/gray in bury but didn't see the
marriage so that one thing solved
james purgavie/maud annie rance 1906 marriage colchester looks
good
i also wondered about the 1903 marriage of james g to annie lamont - think this is james gray purgavie(b 1879)  son of james
purgavie and euphemia gray

i'll have a look all the info. you have kindly provided and see where
i am
