Hi
In 1911 the family were living at 5 Chester Street, Cargo Fleet. Charles and Catherine had had 8 children of whom 5 were alive on 2 April 1911. These children were
Emma Agnes Leah 11 George Pearson 9 John William 8 Prudence 6 Elizabeth 2 all born in Middlesbrough
The births index started to include the mother's maiden name in the Jul-Sep quarter 1911 and there are two further Baldam/Balddam children with mother's name Mitchinson
Charles Balddam birth registered Jul-Sep 1913 Sedgefield District 10a 404 Edith Baldam birth registered Oct-Dec 1917 Sedgefield District 10a 292
There is about four years between the births of Charles and Elizabeth so another child is biologically possible. The most likely period is May-Jun 1911 after the 1911 census and before the mother's name started being included in the index. I cannot spot a likely female Baldam in this single quarter.
It is possible that the family failed to register Isabelle's birth or that her name is so badly scrambled that we have not found it. However it may be profitable to research the girls that we do know about to be sure that none of them decided to change her name to Isabelle. So what happened to Agnes, Elizabeth, Prudence and Edith?
All the best

Hi Chrissie
Thank you for your personal message. You say that you have not heard of Elizabeth (age 2 in 1911) so this may be the girl who grew up to be Isabelle. I think that her birth was registered as
Births Oct-Dec 1908 Baldam Rhoda Elizabeth Middlesbro 9d 524
I cannot find the death of a Baldam girl, born between 1 Oct 1907 and 1 Jan 1910, on Freebmd so it is possible that Elizabeth did survive to adulthood.
Don't worry about the name Old Gobbo - he was a comic character in the Merchant of Venice.
All the best
