Scunthorpe mining accident 1891 - help / ideas
« on: Friday 19 June 09 18:18 UTC (UK) »

John Theaker died 27th February 1892 following an accident at the iron mines around Scunthorpe.  Can anyone offer any assistance or ideas as to how to find out more details about the accident.

Hi,

Local newspapers would probably have a news item about the accident.   If it was a major incident it might also be featured in the national press.

Thanks for the response.  I presume you are referring to the museum on Oswald Road Scunthorpe.

Best regards, Mike
