Archway New Zealand is now showing against soldier's name the message "view digitised record PDF" and you click on it and up comes the record! They have only completed, however about 800 files - but it's a start!

Try it out for yourself .......

and type in a soldier's name - if you are lucky up will come their PDF file

That's terrific that they've made a start.  Australian Archives are fantastic with their WW1 soldiers records.  Although i have only 1 Australian soldiers in my trees  [thus far] i find it fascinating reading and have read hundreds. 

For those that don't already know, Auckland War Memorial Museum have a fantastic database of NZ military also [and not just for those that died in the wars]   http://muse.aucklandmuseum.com/databases/cenotaph/locations.aspx [note if you are using IE8 on this site and the page information appears centred you will have to click the compatibility icon at the top beside the address bar.  It looks like a page torn in half with zigzags].

hmmmm i've found my g g uncles record and yes it's as a PDF, but they appear to have put pages on top of other pages.... http://www.archives.govt.nz/docs/?pid=archives:17118 seems to have covered some text in areas.

Thanks for this new information - its most helpful as I've got quite a lot people who were involved in WW1 - look forward in years ahead for WW2 records
