I am going to start from scratch here with records;

Yeah  ... well thanks Trish.   Cheesy

I've already located some background information for whole of this family, but  I think it is firstly important to establish just what the lister has  .... and also for questions relevant to the subjects of this search, to be answered !

Thank you Bevty.   Smiley

Yes, many of the earlier questions you had already answered, but if you have the marriage information for Annie BAKER to Frederick SAVAGE, then you must also have his approximate year of birth Huh

As I alluded to at the outset, it is doubtful any information available in NZ for William BAKER, will lead you to finding his roots.     AND ... the same is true for Annie BAKER.

Both these people need to be "found" on UK census returns.

It looks like Trish now has this all in hand  Huh

Hi Lu and Trish.   Grateful thanks for the inetrest and help you have given me.

It now looks to me that William BAKER and Sally HUNNIBAL (with U) married Stepney 1838 are the parents of William Stephen BAKER in NZ b.1839.
And likely Sally must have died and William then married Eleanor as in 1851 census.
If Eleanor is from Ireland and they married there, maybe the records of their marriage were 'lost' along with so many Irish records.
My aunts always told me that Annie Maria was born in Colchester and this is borne out on her D/C but I guess this is only what was passed on to them by her and maybe she only grew up there???
My thoughts that Annie Maria was actually William Stephens half sister now seem the more likely happening.
Annie Maria's husband Frederick SAVAGE was b 1853 in Stanwell, England and I have no problem with research on this family passed his grandparents.
Thankyou again.   Bev.
