Hi blackangel

I did find this marriage but I'm not sure which one he married. A check of the 1911 Census should tell you if this is the right George. I don't have access to it I'm afraid. It is probably Elizabeth.

Marriages Jun Quarter 1909

blackangel,
If you want to be absolutely certain about her parents names you could buy her birth cert.  Costs 7GBP.  Sad

Hello

There does not seem to be a birth registration for an Elizabeth Ellen (or Helen) Fell anywhere in England or Wales between 1910 and 1913.

There is a death registered in Hull in September 1984 for an Elizabeth Ellen Peach and her date of birth is given as 18th February 1912.

Do you think that might be her ?

If so, there is a possible birth registration in that quarter for an Eliza E Fell in the Glanford Brigg Registration District, which, I think, is just across the river from Hull and Sculcoates. The GRO reference is 7a 1323 and the mother’s maiden name is listed as Calvert. It is possible that this is a misprint and the name should be Calbert.

In the third quarter of 1909 there is a possible marriage of a George Fell and a Sarah Jane Calbert in Glanford Brigg District.

They are two of the four names shown against GRO Reference 7a 1479 - www.freebmd.org.uk/

Sarah Jane Calbert was born in 1884 in the Glanford Brigg District, at Burton upon Stather. She is visible on the 1891 and 1901 census should she prove to be the correct mother.

There are, however, a few people called George Fell in that same general area, of a similar age, so it is not as easy to guess which might be the correct one.

On the 1911 census index George and Sarah Jane are living in the Glanford Brigg District and they do not seem to have anyone else called Fell living with them. George’s birth year is given as 1881 and his birth place is given as Bilsby.

There is a George Fell born at Bilsby in 1878, who might be the one who married Sarah Jane and he is visible on censuses from 1881 to 1901 should that be the case.
