Was there a father's occupation on this marriage cert?
Were there any witnesses?

Blackangel, do you have the birth certificate for Sarah?  I can only see one birth for Child as follows:

Sarah Elizabeth Child
June 1898 / Sculcoates
Vol No: 9d / Page No: 218

Hi Blackangel,

Why do you think she was born in Essex?

I checked out the 1911 census and thought this looked promising http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/results2.aspx?x=4571878 particularly as this Sarah is in the right area with a brother called Joseph.

Quote

I'll go and look them up in 1901

Where did you get that exact date of 8th April 1898 from? As the others have said the only Sarah E Child is the one in the 1901 census?

There is the following marriage:

Benjamin Child / Prudence Blackley
December 1880 / Sculcoates
Vol No: 9d / Page No: 113

1881 Census:  RG11 / 4758 / 129 / 15

Death
Prudence Child / Leeds
September 1889 / Age 29
Vol No: 9b / Page No: 354

Benjamin must have remarried.  Will have a look and see if I can find it for you.
