Hello from Australia.

I am trying to find the names of the children of a John Row (c1784) and Margaret Wallis Wallace (bap 6.11.1785) who were married on 13th May 1809 in St Just/Penwith, Cornwall. The couple and some children may have emigrated to the West Indies in later life as John died there in about 1836 and Margaret died in Reading, Pennsylvania in October 1856.
My 3x great grandfather John Rowe went to the West Indies for 2 years in approximately 1838-1839 - this could be around the time of death of the John Row above, so could possibly be a relation.

what sort of anything else are you looking for?
Margaret Wallis bp 6/11/1785 was the daighter of Robert & Margaret. Robert Wallis married Margaret Edwards 2/6/1782 IGI batch M020311 and had these other children baptised IGI batch P020311 Elizabeth 13/4/1783 Jane 1/1/1790 Honor 23/11/1794 Sarah 7/2/1796 Joanna 24/2/1799 Clarinda 6/3/1803
You can get copies of these parish entries from the record office in Truro http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=14713 Likewise for the marriage in 1809. The witness names may help identify which John Row he was - not an uncommon name in that part of Cornwall.
The opc may be able to help http://www.cornwall-opc.org/Par_new/h_k/just_in_penwith_st.php

Hello from Australia.

Thanks again osprey. I will investigate those links.
I was just wondering if there is any extra information on the children of the couple - ie marriage information, or whether they appear in later censuses.

I did have a look for them later on, but with no luck. No sign of marriages in the parish for them or in the 1841 census as far as I remember. Also checked for wills and nothing that helped there either. Row(e) is a common name though and if they moved parish, harder to spot.
Copies of the Row baptisms might give John's occupation. Margaret's middle name would seem to confirm Robert & Margaret's marriage.

well, that's a good explanation for them not being on the 1841 census.
Think a copy of the parish entry for the marriage might be the next move to see if there are any Row relatives as witnesses and give a clue to John's parentage.

I had this on my mind when I went to bed last night and its still there when I woke up - I have been a bit concerned by Johns occupation "joiner" when from the OPC site Margaret and Elizabeth's baptisms list him as a miner of Carrarack. Just rechecking the image and to my eye it does say Joiner. William ditto, Young Margaret "none". The rest of the family the occ. column is blank. I just can't give it Miner. The family are listed in the order I transcribed. I have however found there is a second image where he is listed as miner (family listed in same order but split over two pages) William has ditto to his father, Young Margaret comes next on the list and she has "none" the rest of the family have ditto.
Cheers Kris
