Hi,
My name is Richard Nyguist, my father is John Nyguist. I do not know too much about the history except that the family came from Sweden to teach glass blowing in Glasgow. The original name was Nyquist and was mistakenly changed at immigration. My fathers grandfather was Gustav who was the oldest of four brothers.
My fathers father was also called John, married to Mary.
Please let me know if this fits.
Richard

Agnes, I got your PM The reason your PM is not getting through to Richard is because Richard, as a new member, needs to make another 2 messages on the main forum before he can use the Private Message Service.
Richard, welcome to RootsChat This is a link to Agnes' main thread on the family www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,384145.0.html
I am so chuffed for you Agnes - can't believe how many Nugents (and variants!) have been waiting to link up

Agnes and Monica,
Wow, the family tree and history has been so lacking and I have had very little passed down. This is great!...I always wondered about my middle names - James , Edward. My dad was an only child and his parents did not relate much to the rest of the family.
So, from the last message Monica, you are saying I need to send one more message before I can receive a PM?
Thanks
Richard

One more and then you can send and receive PMs A couple of ways too send someone a PM, the quickest, just click on the little green scroll under their names. This will take you through to the PM service which works very much like an email account with an inbox/outbox.
If you look at the top of the page you will see: Welcome back, xxxx, you have xxx messages, x are new. If you click on the messages, this takes you to your PM messages.
Good luck with everything
Monica

Agnes,
Here is another reply to be safe. I was always under the impression that my family was small. My parents are both only children, and I have one brother. My grandparents are passed on along with their generation, I am looking forward to filling in the tree!
