Turning to Ella Kate's mother, Elizabeth Suter Hall, née Woods, given we saw her YoB in the 1911 Free Index as c1880, this looks like her ...

Hi, I've finally had a bit of time to come back to this, and have got a subscription to one of the major sites too which hopefully should help. I'd welcome some advice though. Tracking back through my great-grandmother Elizabeth Suter Woods (b.1878) and then her father William Woods (b. c.1847) and then his father Richard Woods (b. c.1811/12) the following info is provided in the 1841 Sussex census transcript:
Woods James 20 - Ag Lab Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods William 30 - Game Keeper Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods Charlotte 30 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods Charlotte 8 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods Caroline 6 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods Elias 4 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F20 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.243 Woods Richard 30 - Ag Lab Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods Elizabeth 25 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods Emily 2 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods Harriett 2M - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods William 60 - Wooder Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods Jane 60 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244 Woods Sarah 35 - Yes Forest Side, Stoughton, Sussex HO107/1104/13/ F21 CD3 HO_1104.pdf p.244
My question therefore is, how reasonable assumption is it that William Woods (60) would be Richard Woods' father (and therefore my great, great, great, great-grandfather!)? Any other tips to verify this would be great. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the resources I can now see so assurances or pointers or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks. Jon.

Hi Jon
This site allows you to search extracted entries on the IGI (International Genealogical Index) by parish
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/
Stoughton is well covered and this baptism shows your assumption appears to be correct
Richard Woods baptised Stoughton 15 Jun 1811 parents William and Jane
