Gowan family
« on: Sunday 21 June 09 12:05 UTC (UK) »

Hi all
At last I have found my Gowan family in Gorey Wexford and notice they are the only Gowan's in all of Wexford at that time.  My grandmother is there age 15 that would mean she was born 1896 but I can't find her birth on the LDS pilot site on the census she is down as Molly but her name was Mary after her mother I did find a Mary Gown on the LDS pilot site but she was born 1893  I wonder if this could be her as I did notice that Mary1896 had brother's James,1889 Harry,1892 Thomas 1898 and On the LDS pilot site I found under the name Gown a Henry1892 Mary 1893 Thomas 1898 could this be my family? I know from the census that mother and father could not read and write and maybe thats why the name is spelt wrong but the dates are also wrong I'm sure he would have known the difference between 15 18. On Mary's Marriage Certificate 1923 she has her age as 27 Any help or advice would be a great help.

Regards Manus
