I am looking into the Sephton family for a friend. got stuck at the first hurdle!

Can anyone read the names of the family, and what Prudence did as an occupation?

Thanks

Possibly a glass washer - first word is glass but no too sure about the second one

if you do a parent search on the IGI using John & Cybel - all the children are listed

PARENT SEARCH ON IGI

www.familysearch.org - On home page - click on  “Advanced Search” to the right of the SEARCH button

Select “International Genealogical Index” from the left hand menu

Input fathers name and surname BUT only put mothers christian name as not all entries have the maiden name

REGION – select British Isles from the menu

COUNTRY – select one or “All countries”

COUNTY (will appear when you select COUNTRY)  – select whichever matches what you know about the family

Click SEARCH

Yes, looks like 'glass smoother' to me too.  If they are in St Helens, an occupation related to glass-making is quite likely.

I thought it said Glass Worker but it could be Smoother - google suggests smoother could be similar to a glass polisher.

I've just tried the search that Carole told me about. I did not know you could do that - very helpful, and two new siblings turned up!

Hmm - must try that with some other missing persons!

Thanks again.
