hi I think Atherstone at that time was part of the parish of Mancetter, the parish church being St. Peters in Mancetter. This link states that if you are researching records prior to 1841 you will need to use the mancetter parish records, as Atherstone separated from Mancetter in 1841.

There is a John Rowley on the igi baptised 18/5/1814 Mancetter, that could be him.

Hi
I see you live in Warwick or Warwickshire. Warwick and Coventry. cover the main The Archive Records office Behind the Police & railway Station in Warwick will have all your information needed.
Worcester -Lichfield Records archive offices and Nuneaton also cover for Atherstone-Mancetter- Merevale.-
Matlock - Derbyshire and Leicester Archives.
Parish records Overseers Records We do have Overseers' records for the above parishes except for Merevale, although the exact types of records and dates vary. A catalogue of the collections can be found in full through our online catalogue, Warwickshire's Past Unlocked (www.warwickshire.gov.uk/archivesunlocked). From the left-hand menu on the homepage click 'search the catalogue', then in the Title field enter 'parish of...' e.g. 'parish of Atherstone' or 'parish of Mancetter'. Click on search, and the main collection for the parish should appear in capital letters near the top of the list of results. Click on 'view' to see an overview of the collection, then click on the tree icon at the bottom of the description (next to 'fonds number') to begin exploring the full catalogue. This is a finding aid to the records we hold, and the documents themselves are not available to view online.
Taxation We have land tax records for each of the parishes you mentioned but do not appear to have hearth tax returns. The land tax records date from approximately 1774-1832 with gaps between 1775-1779 and in 1784. The reference number for this collection is QS77.
Tithe Apportionments We have a copy of the enclosure award for Atherstone dated 1765 (reference no. Y1/21/1), but there is no accompanying map and we do not have the tithe apportionment or tithe map. We do have the tithe map and apportionment for Polesworth, this is dated 1850 (ref. no. CR328/37), and we have a copy of some enclosure records for Polesworth (ref. no. MI175) but again there is no accompanying map. I am afraid that we do not have any tithe or enclosure records for Mancetter or Merevale. The data from our tithe apportionments is now available through our website as an online database, searchable by place, landowner or tenant. More information can be found here: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/corporate/pages.nsf/Links/390E7E13C395FF6C80256B7B00377A8B
Residential Directories The best source of information for residents in a particular area is electoral registers. Unfortunately our earliest electoral registers date from 1832, and our earliest edition of Kelly's Directory (listing businesses and private residents) is 1840.
Census Returns I am afraid that we do not have any census information from these parishes until the first national census in 1841. We hold the 1841-1901 census returns for Warwickshire on microfilm and fiche; these are also available from commercial websites such as ancestry.com and findmypast.com. Pre-1841 censuses (where they exist) were usually a head-count of the number of people living in a parish, and did not generally list householders by name.
Other Records Many catalogues of our collections can now be found online, either through Warwickshire's Past Unlocked, or the Access to Archives database hosted by The National Archives (www.nationalarchives.org.uk/a2a) Overseers' records, (specifically accounts and settlement examinations / removal orders), land tax, window tax, tithe apportionments, residential directories and census returns for the above parishes between the years 1760-1810. I have assumed that you are interested in Polesworth

Derbyshire, Warwick. Yorkshire, Stafford and Worcestershire. In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth.
